DIAMONDS

ESTATE: Dramatic Blue/Green Diamond ring. 2.2 carats

This is a pear shaped blue/green diamond weighing 1.5 carats and set in 14k white gold. It is flanked by another .70 carats of white diamonds. Clarity is SI. Ring size is 5.5 and it can be resized. This ring appraised for $6500. back in 2005 when gold was under $500 oz. The color of the center diamond is mesmerizing. AQUAMARINE  

MATCHED SET - RING, PENDANT & EARRINGS. Estate. Very fine, very large, very clean Aquamarines of excellent color. This is a matched three piece suite set in 14k white gold. The set is comprised of the Pendant, the stone for which measures 20.32 x 12.1 x 9.12mm and weighs 19.11 carats, the Ring, the stone for which measures 18.95 x 15 x 9.88mm, weighs 15.74 carats, and the matching pair of Earrings, the stones measuring 15.02 x 9.12 x 5.9mm and 14.4 x 9.0 x 5.8mm and weigh 4.32 carats and 4.08 carats respectively. We note some wear on the Aquamarine which is in the ring and that particular gemstone may benefit from professional polishing. ESTATE: Gorgeous 14k Ring
But ....Is it an Aquamarine or a Blue Topaz?

From the Treasure Coast of Florida, this is one of several items of fine jewelry which have recently been placed with us on consignment.

The consignor had initially pulled this (and other) inherited items from the safety deposit box and had taken them to one of the largest jewelers in the area for identification and valuation.

She was informed that this ring holds a magnificent Aquamarine with a value in the neighborhood of $9000. The jeweler was so impressed with the beauty of the stone that he called several employees over to display it to them as well. She then brought the ring to us to be sold.

The color is aquamarine. The natural mined gemstone has the correct microscopic "rain" inclusions, consistent with proper Aquamarine stone identification. But....our own bench jeweler tells us that in his opinion this is instead a truly exquisite blue Topaz.

The vintage 1950's - 1960's ring is 14k yellow gold, in excellent condition, and the size is 6 3/4. The stone measures approx. 14 x 18mm and the gemstone weight has been calculated at 20.94 carats. The weight of the ring is 7.85 DWT.
