RING: 1795 Small Eagle Gold Signet Ring 1.45oz . CUSTOM MADE FOR RARE COIN COLLECTOR -- HEAVY solid gold signet ring featured the reverse side of the 1795 Draped Bust Small Eagle $10. gold coin, one of the rarest and most valuable of coins. The original of this design was created by Chief Engraver Robert Scot and inspired by a Roman onyx cameo carved in the first century B. C.. The coin's reverse depicted an eagle with widespread wings, perched on a palm branch with a wreath in its beak. Like the original coin, the design for this ring was similarly hand carved. The ring was cast in heavy, solid 14k yellow gold and is a rare, unusual, and highly sophisticated ring. The ring displayed at right spent the last few decades in a safe deposit box. A solid gold ring, the top measures 19mm x 23mm. Size 11. SOLD |

AN IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING:
Many young men are considering the purchase of inexpensive Tungsten Carbide wedding bands. We strongly discourage the choice. Every jeweler and every emergency room has a tool on hand to enable removal of Gold and Platinum rings. Those rings can quickly and easily be cut off the finger in the event of an injury, without incurring further damage to the finger (or the ring for that matter). Such is not the case with Tungsten Carbide rings. If your ring is platinum or gold the jeweler will immediately provide assistance. If it's Tungsten, a jeweler is not going to risk injuring you further. You'll be directed to an emergency room, where you will sit in the waiting room until someone eventually gets around to seeing you. Mayo Clinic (after practicing on cadavers who were beyond experiencing pain) recommended the use of crushing, locking pliers to remove Tungsten rings. If you have a badly injured finger or injured hand already, you're definitely not going to like what happens next. |
