Case Study: Plasma TV for 75' High Performance Motor Yacht - Mallorca, Spain

Owner of a 75 foot high performance motor yacht sought to have a plasma TV installed in a partially enclosed area -- above deck. The TV was to be able to be viewed while underway or at dockside. HOWEVER, to protect the television receiver from weather, and to minimize effect on appearance as well as providing anti-theft security, the above deck TV was to be enabled (via remote control) to be raised or retracted - -  lowering through the deck, to a stowed position below deck.

The deck opening was to be inconspicuous,  weather sealed; opening as the TV rose from its stowed position and automatically closing as the TV is lowered.

BUT . . . Only 16 3/4" in height was available within the below deck storage space. Thus, during its raising and lowering, the TV had to transition from vertical viewing, to a horizontal stowed position. The TV moves upward in an arc culminating in a rise through the deck to a position above the deck.

The all-stainless steel CL-1 cable lift mechanism with remote control, coupled with unique use of a length of low-friction sail track, enables silent, smooth transition from “down-below” to raised viewing position.

Boatyard work was performed by Harcus Marine in Mallorca, Spain.
