COMMENT FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY & CANDIDATE ANALYSIS
Report SYNOPSIS: Complete text available on request.

Senior Members of The Board of Directors have first-hand knowledge of the qualifications of this candidate. Note: Doug Wichlacz (pronounced Witchlas) has worked directly for the reviewing member of the Candidate Appraisal Committee.

Evaluation: Strong Candidate. Highly Capable, Dependable, Excellent References.

Outstanding manager; tough, hands-on and honest. He learns well, adapts to new situations and challenges adroitly. He is profit oriented, understands cost controls and works well with management, customers and employees. Doug’s sense of commitment to task completion is very strong. He is able to work against tight schedules and within budgets. He deals with day-to-day problems in a mature, even-handed manner. Earns and keeps respect. Natural leader, motivated by challenge .
FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS:

  • Company/Field: Moderate technology - Manufacturing
  • Type of Organization: Fast moving businesses - - small to medium-sized
  • Managing: People and Things
  • Skills: Communicating, creating, problem solving, coordinating
  • Specialization: General Management, manufacturing
  • Innovation: General
  • Buzz Words: Strong leader, Competitor, Sales, Used to working in an industry with thin profit margins. Been there and done that.
  • Compensation: Base with tangible incentives above that based on performance .
  • COMMENT:
Recommendation for his placement would ideally be with an existing, small to mid-sized organization that has a consumer oriented product(s). The organization for him has a reasonably-well defined understanding that management requires as much in the way of hands-on as theory. The organization needs a hands-on "doer" rather than an ivory-tower theorist. Suggested protocol would be to invite him to spend a day or two with an interested organization; asking him to define the job he can do including defining what he expects to happen and what support he will need.
  • Logical position: Manufacturing Manager or General Manager
  • Reviewer Personal Comment: I have a favorable prejudice toward this guy. He a team-player that has the tenacity to cope with sophisticated problems beyond the production floor. He will bring stability, strength and a customer-orientation to the organization fortunate enough to get him on board. He will pay for himself quickly. Family remains in Colorado where last child is still in school. Ideal position would bring him back to Denver/Boulder/Fort Collins or general vicinity.
