Selected Achievements

Responsible for reversing the downward trends in sales, agent growth and productivity, resulting in increased profitability in the West and Midwest Regions, meeting or exceding annual performance objectives while operating within a $23 million budget.

Responsible for the reorganization of the Marketing Operation, including consolidation of marketing functions of Mutual of Omaha and all affiliated companies, resulting in new sales and marketing strategy for Mutual of Omaha.

Responsible for the Future Systems project for United of Omaha, which determined the systems direction for the life and annuity product lines.

Responsible for the design and implementation of the Corporate Claims System for the Individual Health and Accident product lines, developed at a cost of $4.5 million, resulting in $1.7 million annual savings.

Responsible for developing human resource programs within the data processing organization which resulted in annual attrition dropping from 32% to less than 10% while the data processing staff grew from 350 to 1,100 in five years. These programs resulted in IBM recognizing Computer Data Services as one of the top data processing organizations in the United States.

Developed a career development program for data processing personnel that included career paths, training definition and delivery, salary administration, and a performance management process whose base characteristics were adopted company-wide.

Served as a member of the Information Services (IS) Expense Realignment project. Responsible for developing a consolidated report on senior management perspective on the status of information technology within the Corporation. Also responsible for evaluating the IS planning and prioritization processes, recommending to senior management corrective action on noted deficiencies.

Directed reengineering project for the career agent recruiting and selection processes.
