ABOUT THE PAINTING:
Presented for your review is a fine original acrylic painting by the acclaimed
marine and tropical wildlife artist, Michael Hoffman.
The work is a vibrant underwater marine life study. It is one of two of Hoffman's works from a private estate collection. The painting is framed, and the canvas measures approximately 31.5" x 38".
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Michael Hoffman, a native of New York, moved to Key Biscayne, Florida with his
family at the age of 17. For a young artist who was also an avid fisherman,
the picturesque tropical island of Key Biscayne, teeming with exotic fish and
wildlife, was the equivalent of Utopia.
When the real estate boom hit Key Biscayne in 1981, tourists began to outnumber the wildlife. Hoffman left Key Biscayne and moved up the coast to a secluded island home located on a pristine beach in Stuart, Florida, where he resumed his painting.
"Dolphins, pelicans, herons, sharks, rays and, on occasion, even right and humpback whales are regular visitors to the waters directly off my balcony", smiles Hoffman, who was named International Billfish Artist of the Year.
Michael Hoffman's works, collected by art connoisseurs, sports fishermen and environmentalists alike, offer magnificent underwater perspectives, often capturing a shimmering glimpse of the living jewels found in the silent waters off Florida's famed Treasure Coast.
